Six Injured In Cylinder Blasts In Two Houses In City

Hyderabad, March.1 (Maxim News): Six people were grievously injured as gas cylinders exploded in two separate houses on Saturday night in Saroornagar and Malakpet areas. Local residents in the two areas were frightened over the big sound in the middle of the night. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospitals.

According to the information, the first explosion occurred in P&T colony in Saroornagar at 2 am sending shockwaves to the nearby areas. The house in which an LPG cylinder burst was totally destroyed. The entire furniture in the house gutted and three members of the family, including a child suffered grievous injuries. They were shifted to a nearby hospital by the neighbours.

The second explosion of LPG cylinder occurred in a house at Venkatadrinagar in Malakpet area at midnight. Three persons were grievously injured. Windows and gate of the house were badly damaged. the glass panes of the neighboring houses also broke. The ceiling of the house also broke into pieces. With the deafening sound of the blast, the local people ran helter and skelter.

The injured Laxmaiah, Yadamma, Mukesh and Tejaswini were shifted to Osmania General Hospital. Police suspect the gas from a cylinder might have leaked resulting in the explosion. The police, along with the Clues team inspected the spot. (Maxim News)
