Hyderabad: The Skill Her Initiative of FICCI FLO Hyderabad marked a major milestone with the graduation of nearly 1,000 women and girls. The graduation ceremony took place at the FLO Skill Centre in Bhongir, near Hyderabad, on January 10, 2026. The event highlighted the outcomes of a focused skilling effort aimed at helping women gain practical and income generating skills.
The Skill Her Initiative focuses on training grassroots women in skills linked to local demand. According to a press note issued by the FLO Hyderabad Chapter, the graduating groups included three batches of tailoring, with 158 women completing the course. Meanwhile, three batches of maggam embroidery saw 122 women graduate. Also, 65 women completed the beautician course, while 90 women finished training in mehendi design. Therefore, the programme covered a wide range of livelihood options.
In addition, FLO Hyderabad’s Wedding Initiative directly impacted 255 grassroots women. This initiative provided hands on training in wedding related services and crafts. As a result, participants were able to earn sustainable incomes during the peak marriage season. Later, many women used these skills to support their families and improve financial stability.
The community focused skilling drive was led by Prathibha Kunda, Chairperson of FLO Hyderabad. The initiative forms part of the chapter’s broader mission to empower women with skills, confidence, and dignified livelihood opportunities. Meanwhile, the graduation ceremony was held in the presence of Chief Guest Shri M. Hanumantha Rao, District Collector and Magistrate of Bhongir, and Special Guest Shri Akshansh Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District.

Addressing the gathering, Prathibha Kunda shared a message that reflected the spirit of the Skill Her Initiative. “When a woman learns a skill, she doesn’t just change her life—she transforms her family’s future and uplifts her community. Today, as I look into the eyes of nearly 1,000 women and girls who have completed their training, I see quiet strength, untapped potential, and the promise of a more equal tomorrow. FLO Hyderabad is proud to stand with them—not just in celebration, but in solidarity.”
The atmosphere at the ceremony reflected pride and joy. Many graduates received certificates for the first time. Several participants also spoke about starting home based enterprises, adding to household income, and gaining confidence through their new skills.
