SNDP Works Put End to Woes of People: Talasani

Hyderabad, June 4 (Maxim News): Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) has put an end to the long pending woes of people in twin cities and all the works taken up under the programme are going on at the brisk pace.

Talasani Srinivas Yadav along with MLA Sayanna inspected the construction of a bridge taken up under the SNDP at an estimated cost of Rs.10 crore across the Picket Nala on SD Road, Secunderabad on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the SNDP was launched in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation aimed at planning, developing & maintaining a comprehensive stormwater drainage or nala system in the city, with the objective of mitigating the adversities on account of heavy rains in future.

He said that many nalas were encroached upon during the regime of previous governments and overflowing of nalas were a common sight during the rainy season in Hyderabad. With the launch of Strategic Nala Development Programme, the drainage system is being revamped and all nalas are being developed for the free flow of rainy water. All the credit goes to Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao for launching the programme, Srinivas Yadav said.

The Minister directed the officials concerned to expedite the ongoing bridge works and complete them by the end of this month. (Maxim News)
