“Socio-Political Dynamics in Telangana State” National Seminar held at MANUU

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Department of Political Science organized  Two-Day National Seminar on “Socio-Political Dynamics in Telangana State”Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor chaired the inaugural session yesterday at Library Auditorium. Prof. G Haragopal delivered the keynote address. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences and Prof. N. Sukumar were the Guests of Honours.

In his keynote address, Prof. Haragopal covered historical context, various themes shaping socio-politics of Telangana. His address touched upon important moments of the Telangana movement. He also engaged with key issues and processes as Green Revolution, Emergency and disputes around water resources and presented a brief assessment of their impact on the socio-political landscape of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Prof. Haragopal also highlighted the contribution of some of the important individuals in the development and progress of Telangana.

Prof. N Sukumar, guest of honour of the seminar discussed the traditions and ideals associated with the Telangana movement and emphasized their relevance and importance in the present context. Registrar, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed highlighted the significance of the Seminar. Prof. Farida Siddiqui deliberated upon the linkage between economy and political processes.

Prof. Afroz Alam, Head, Department of Political Science briefed about the seminar. Prof. A Nageswara Rao, coordinator seminar welcomed the guests. Dr. Shabana Farheen proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Muzaffar Hussain convened the programme.
