Speaker Seeks More Evidence Form BRS Petition Over Turncoat MLAs
Hyderabad, Sept 19 (Maxim News): has issued fresh notices to six BRS MLAs who defected to the Congress, seeking further details on their defence, while also directing BRS petitioners to submit additional evidence in proper legal format regarding the defections.
As part of proceedings initiated against the defected legislators, the Speaker’s office served notices on Thursday to Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy (Jogulamba Gadwal), Sanjay (Jagityal), Gudem Mahipal Reddy (Patancheru), Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (Banswada), Kale Yadaiah (Chevella) and Tellam Venkat Rao (Bhadrachalam).
Last month, the Speaker had acted on the Supreme Court’s directive to decide on the BRS petition within 90 days and issued notices to 10 MLAs who crossed over. Of them, Krishnamohan Reddy, Arekepudi Gandhi (Serilingampally), Sanjay, Mahipal Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Prakash Goud (Rajendranagar), Yadaiah and Venkat Rao submitted written replies, denying defections and claiming they were still with the BRS.
Two others, Kadiyam Srihari (Station Ghanpur) and Danam Nagender (Khairatabad), sought additional time to respond.
The Speaker has now sought detailed submissions from the six MLAs and asked the BRS petitioners to furnish further documentary evidence in legal format. They have been directed to reply within three days. (Maxim News)
