Speed up Mission Bhagiratha works: Kadiam
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari directed officials to take steps for bulk supply of drinking water to all villages in the erstwhile Warangal district by April 15.
He also asked them to complete intra-village works by June 30 in the district and by July 31 in GWMC limits and Bhupalpally.
Srihari conducted a review meeting with the officials over Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and other schemes in Hanamkonda here on Friday.
Srihari told the officials that the works of Mission Bhagiratha must be completed in Warangal district ahead of other districts. Stating that there would be no issues related to the availability of drinking water in summer, he said each house should get the piped water in Jangaon district by April 30.
Speaking at the meeting, Warangal Rural Collector M Haritha said the water would be supplied to all houses in Parkal town by March 31, while
Bhupalpally Collector Amoy Kumar said they were trying to supply water to all villages in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district by April 15.
Warangal Urban Joint Collector Dayanand said bulk water would be supplied to all villages in the district by April 15.
Meanwhile, Srihari expressed displeasure over the officials for not having the complete information about Mission Kakatiya works and directed the Collectors to monitor the works on a regular basis. He also expressed his anger over AEs, DEs and EEs for not having a clear idea about the location of tanks that were taken up for renovation under the Mission Kakatiya. He also directed the Collectors to inform the government about the engineering officials, who were not performing well.
Palakurthy MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal also expressed their ire over the engineering officials for the slow progress or no progress in the renovation of tanks. They were asked to complete tender process by March 31 and complete the works by July 31. Dayakar Rao was upset over the SE, Mission Kakatiya, Prasad, for the delay in works.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gaddala Padma, Government Whip Bodikunti Venkateshwarlu, MLAs Vinay Bhaskar, Mayor N Nareneder, Mission Bhagiratha Engineer in Chief Surender Reddy and others attended the meeting.
