Warangal/Hyderabad, Oct 17 (Maxim News): Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu has outlined plans to develop Greater Warangal on the lines of Hyderabad, with a focus on innovation, IT infrastructure and employment generation.
The minister said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would inaugurate the KU Hub, a knowledge and innovation hub aimed at strengthening the region’s development.
Sridhar Babu made these remarks during a visit to Sri Bhadrakali Temple in Warangal on Saturday. He offered prayers during the Devi Sharannavaratri celebrations.
Warangal Development Gets Focus on IT and Water Resources
The minister said the state government was taking precautionary measures across Telangana against the possible effects of the El Niño phenomenon.
He also said Godavari water was being pumped from Dharmasagar Lake into Bhadrakali Lake. The initiative aims to replenish groundwater resources in Warangal and Hanamkonda.
Sridhar Babu announced plans to establish IT towers in Warangal to create employment opportunities for local youth. The proposed infrastructure is expected to support the city’s technology sector and attract further investment.
The government has also allocated ₹40 crore for constructing mada veedhulu, or procession streets, around Sri Bhadrakali Temple.
The minister praised the construction of a new temple chariot with contributions from donors. The chariot is intended to support religious processions and temple celebrations.
The proposed initiatives form part of the government’s broader plans to strengthen Greater Warangal’s infrastructure and economic opportunities. The KU Hub, IT towers and temple-area development are expected to contribute to the city’s growth.
