Akira, the first of its kind school for dyslexic children in the State would be operational with an intake of 30 students by mid-July.
Being launched by the St. Andrews School in collaboration with Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA), Chennai, the school which would be housed in a dedicated building within the St. Andrews, Bowenpally campus in the city with state-of-the-art educational techniques coupled with trained facilitators.
The school aims to develop social skills and confidence apart from academics skills in dyslexic learners. It will have an occupational therapy centre and Hydra, a multiple intelligences centre to help assess, analyze and identify various intelligences dominant in the student.
