State Congress Leaders Remember Rajiv Gandhi
Hyderabad, May 21 (Maxim News): TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said Rajiv Gandhi was responsible for the introduction of cell phones and strengthening of Panchayat Raj Act in the country. He said Rajiv Gandhi was killed at the hands of LTTE terrorists of Sri Lanka. He said they were condemning the comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against their leader. Uttam also said they don’t believe in the exit polls.
Former minister K Jana Reddy also eulogized the services of Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 28th death anniversary. He said the country was ahead in all sectors in the 21st century, thanks to hard work done by Rajiv Gandhi. He also said Rajiv was an inspiration for many people as he had sacrificed his life for the sake of the unity and integrity of the country.
Former TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah said two-thirds of Indians were working in IT sectors due to the efforts made by Rajiv Gandhi. Alleging that political terrorism had increased in the country after the BJP wrested power, he said he was condemning the comments of PM Narendra Modi and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur against Rajiv Gandhi. He demanded that the State and Union governments to stop political terrorism.
TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said nobody knew about achievements of Prime Minister Modi during his last five years during BJP rule, but their leader Rajiv Gandhi had introduced TVS, cell phones and anti-terrorism policy and made special budget providing for villages in the country. He said that their party president Rahul Gandhi was following the footsteps of his father Rajiv Gandhi. (Maxim News)
