Karimnagar / Hyderabad, Feb. 5 (Maxim News): Students drinking alcohol triggered shock and concern in Karimnagar district after a disturbing incident came to light at a school in Chigurumamidi mandal headquarters.
The episode has raised serious questions about student safety, access to liquor, and the presence of belt shops near educational institutions.
According to available information, several students allegedly consumed alcohol and then attended school.
The incident surfaced when school authorities checked the students’ bags. During the inspection, staff found liquor bottles inside the bags.
This discovery stunned teachers and administrators, who immediately took note of the seriousness of the matter.
Meanwhile, the students reportedly told school authorities that they purchased the alcohol from a nearby belt shop located close to the school.
This revelation further deepened concerns about the easy availability of liquor near educational campuses.
However, officials are yet to confirm how long such activity has been going on in the area.
Following the incident, the school management began counselling the concerned students.
Sources said the counselling aims to explain the dangers of alcohol consumption and guide students back to disciplined behaviour.
At the same time, the school is closely monitoring the situation to prevent a repeat of such incidents in the future. Parents, meanwhile, expressed anger after learning about the episode. They blamed nearby belt shops for endangering children.
Many parents demanded that authorities immediately remove liquor outlets located close to schools. They also urged officials to strictly regulate liquor sale timings.
According to parents, liquor shops should open only after 4 pm and close by 9 pm. They believe stricter timing rules will reduce the risk of students accessing alcohol during school hours.
Parents also stressed that regular inspections near schools are needed to ensure student safety.
However, officials have not yet released complete details about the incident.
Authorities are expected to gather more information and decide on further action.
