This matter is within the rules of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. On this occasion, the Supreme Court ruled that the LG does not need the advice of the local government in the matter of nomination of members in the MCD. To this extent, Supreme Court Chief Justice D.Y Chandrachud, Justice PS Narasimha, and JP Pardiwala’s Bench disclosed this on Monday. In that order, the Kejriwal government dismissed the previous PIL.
There are a total of 250 divisions under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). But in 2022 MCD elections were held. Aam Aadmi Party won in 134 divisions in this election. That means it has won more than half of the seats. With this, the reins of the Delhi Municipal Corporation went into the hands of the Aam Aadmi Party. With that, it was like singing the final song to the BJP, which has been in power in MCD for 15 years. In this election, BJP won 104 seats and Congress won 9 seats.
