Supreme Court Halts Telangana High Court’s Orders on MLC Appointments
Hyderabad, AUG 14 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court has stayed the order given earlier by the Telangana High Court on the appointment of MLCs. The bench headed by Justice Vikramnath made it clear that the stay will remain in force till further orders.

BRS leaders Dossaju Shravan and Kurra Satyanarayana approached the Supreme Court challenging the selection of new MLCs in the governor’s quota, setting aside their appointment. The Supreme Court has taken up the investigation. The petitioners asked for a stay from appointing new MLCs, but the tribunal refused.
It commented that if the appointment of new MLCs is blocked, the rights of the Governor and the government will be taken away. It said that the government must make appointments from time to time.

Later, the bench adjourned the hearing on the petition for four weeks. A bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Prasanna Balachander Varale issued notices to the Governor and the State Government, who are the respondents. (Maxim News)
