Supreme Court Notices to UP Govt in Liver Transplant Case of a Father
The Supreme Court took up a hearing on a petition filed by a boy that his father needed a liver transplant. The boy pleaded in court that his father’s condition was critical and that he should be allowed to donate his liver.
After receiving the petition and hearing the arguments, the Supreme Court questioned how a 17-year-old boy can donate his liver. In this context, notices have been issued to the Uttar Pradesh government.
The next hearing was adjourned to September 12. Apart from that, the Uttar Pradesh Health Department has issued a notice to appear before the Supreme Court for further investigation.
Apart from this, the Supreme Court has made it clear that preliminary tests should be done on whether or not a minor can be given an organ donation.
