Hyderabad: The Supreme Court granted relief to the Andhra Pradesh government in the Tirumala laddu prasadam adulteration case. A bench headed by the Chief Justice of India heard a petition filed by prominent politician Subramanian Swamy and issued key orders. The court clarified that the previously appointed one member committee can continue its investigation as usual.
Supreme Court Allows One Member Committee to Continue Probe
During the hearing, the bench raised several important points. The judges said that ascertaining the facts in this matter is linked to the faith of devotees. Therefore, the investigation process should not be stopped. The court made it clear that there is no need to stay the inquiry.
The Supreme Court stated that the investigation committee already appointed by the government can carry on with its work. As a result, the one member committee will proceed without interruption. This order gives legal backing to the ongoing probe into the Tirumala laddu prasadam adulteration case.
Tirumala Laddu Prasadam Adulteration Case Gains Momentum
With this verdict, the investigation into the alleged laddu adulteration is likely to move faster. The one member committee is examining irregularities in the ghee procurement process. It is also working to identify those responsible for the adulteration.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government sees this order as a major relief. The government hopes to prepare the report at the earliest. It has stated that it will keep in mind the sentiments of devotees during the process.
The petition in the case was filed by Subramanian Swamy. However, the bench headed by the Chief Justice of India did not halt the inquiry. Instead, it allowed the already appointed committee to continue its work.
The Supreme Court’s decision ensures that the probe will go on without legal hurdles. Therefore, the focus now shifts to the findings of the one member committee in the Tirumala laddu prasadam adulteration case.
