Hyderabad, May 5 (Maxim News): Telangana High Court today asked the state government to take a decision on the imposition of weekend curfew in the state or increase in the schedule of the lockdown by keeping in view of growing number of Covid 19 cases in the state. It asked the government to take the decision before 8th of this month.
The HC passed these orders while dealing with a batch of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the issue of the spread of the virus. The DGP M. Mahender Reddy and the director of the directorate of the public health Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao appeared before the HC during the hearing of the case. Expressing its displeasure over the conduct of less number of Covid 19 tests, the HC asked the government to conduct one lakh teats every day. It asked the government to fix the maximum price to be charged by private hospitals for the Covid treatment besides asking it issue guidelines on the issue.
The HC further asked the state government as to how many number of tests it conducted through Mobile Covid Centers. It asked the government to set up toll free numbers in all the districts of the state in the same way as it did in GHMC limits .
Talking about the vaccination program to the homeless and the jail inmates, The HC asked the government as to how it would administer the vaccines to the homeless and the jail inmates. The director Srinivasa rao told the HC that Tamil Nadu government was obstructing the transportation of oxygen from Sriperumbudur , the HC asked central government to take steps for the transportation of the oxygen not only from Sriperumbudur but also all parts of the country.
