Talasani appeals to fishermen not to fall prey to middlemen

Nalgonda, Sept.14 (NSS): Minister for Fisheries Talasani Srinivas Yadav appealed to the fishermen not to fall prey to middlemen who exploit the situation by underpaying their cache and said that they should not suffer any losses.

Speaking to the media at Kistapuram village in Munugodu Assembly constituency after releasing the fish seedlings into the village tank on Wednesday, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav along with his cabinet colleague Jagadish Reddy said that all water bodies, irrigation tanks and ponds, under control of gram panchayats, were already transferred to the Fisheries department and the fishing rights on these water bodies had only been given to the fishermen community.

He said that due to initiate taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to ensure a livelihood to Gangaputa, Mudiraj, Tenugu, Wada Balija and other communities, the production of fish had increased enormously in Telangana and the fishermen community were now leading a dignified and happy life in the State.

The Minister further said the Telangana has achieved enormous progress in various sectors during the last eight years under the leadership of KCR and it is only the State for supplying the drinking water to all households in the country.

Earlier, both Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Jagadish Reddy have launched a vaccination drive for cattle and sheeps in Kistapuram village. (NSS)
