Teenage Boy Killed After Touching Live Wire During Badminton Game

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (Maxim News): A family celebration turned into a tragedy, when a teenage boy was electrocuted while playing badminton at a relative’s house in KPHB Colony on Sunday late evening.

Vijay kartik (14), a Grade X student from Kothur in Bapatla of Andhra Pradesh, had come to Hyderabad along with his parents and sister to attend a ceremony. They were staying at a relative’s residence in Bhagatsingh Nagar Phase-2. The family was to attend a family function in Malkajgiri on Monday.

According to the police, on Sunday late evening, Vijay kartik was playing badminton in the compound along with another youth from the family. During the game, the shuttlecock fell onto an electric transformer installed near the compound fence. In an attempt to retrieve it using his racket, Vijay kartik came in contact with a live wire, receiving a powerful electric shock.

His cousin who noticed him, rushed to his rescue and tried to revive him. Vijay karthick was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The KPHB police are investigating. (Maxim News)
