Mallanna filed a petition urging the court to direct the State Election Commission to allow him to contest in the upcoming local body elections under his party’s banner. The High Court bench, which heard the plea on Tuesday, directed the State Election Commission to examine his request and take appropriate action as per the law.

It may be recalled that Teenmaar Mallanna recently launched the Telangana Rajyaadhikara Party with the stated aim of ensuring BC reservations and strengthening statehood values in Telangana. The party was officially founded on September 17 at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad.

The party flag features red and green colors, symbolizing equality and progress. At the center of the flag is a clenched fist accompanied by a labor wheel and rice ears, representing empowerment and livelihood. The slogans “Self-Respect, Power, and Share” are inscribed on the flag, with the party’s name displayed below.

With the High Court directing the Election Commission to take legal action, all eyes are now on what election symbol will be allotted to Teenmaar Mallanna’s party and whether he will be permitted to contest in the local body polls. (Maxim News)
