The budget allocates a significant portion, ₹9,564 crore, to the Home Department, with a clear focus on curbing drug use. Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, while presenting the budget in the Assembly, declared drug use a “dangerous epidemic” and vowed to protect the state’s youth, especially students, from its clutches. The government’s multi-pronged strategy includes:

 The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Organization will receive increased resources and improved facilities to enhance its effectiveness. : A strict approach will be taken against drug trafficking and consumption, with no room for leniency.

 Anti-drug committees will be established within educational institutions, empowering over 4,000 students as “anti-drug soldiers” to spread awareness and combat drug use among their peers.

The government plans to collaborate with film celebrities to leverage their influence in raising public awareness about the dangers of drugs.

Cybersecurity Measures: The budget allocates funds to bolster cybersecurity measures. Minister Vikramarka emphasized the importance of a secure environment in attracting investments to the state. Key initiatives include:

Equipping the Cyber Security Department: New vehicles will be provided to this department to enhance their responsiveness and effectiveness in tackling cyber threats.

Modernizing Police Training: Police personnel will receive training in advanced techniques for investigating cybercrime, ensuring they are equipped to handle this evolving threat.

: All police stations across Telangana will be able to register cybercrime complaints, making it easier for citizens to report such incidents. : A comprehensive public awareness campaign will be launched to educate the public about cybercrime and encourage online complaint registration through a dedicated website and toll-free number.
