Telangana Committed To Eradicate Monsoon Diseases: State Health Minister

Hyderabad/Delhi, Aug 10 (Maxim News): Keeping in view that seasonal diseases are on the rise in the state as it is the rainy season. The Telangana State Minister for Medical, Health, and Family Welfare, Damodar Raja Narasimha stated that the Telangana government is committed to eradicating filariasis and roundworms.

Damodar Raja Narasimha on Saturday participated in a virtual program organized by Union Health Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav on the occasion of National Filaria and Deworming Day. He participated in it from his office in the Secretariat in Hyderabad. He said awareness programs are being conducted in 14 health centers in Sangareddy and Mahbubabad districts for the eradication of filaria and roundworms.

About the establishment of primary health centers, Damodar Rajanarsimha explained to the Union Minister the steps being taken to prevent seasonal disease, filariasis, and roundworms medicines are being distributed to the people of 14 primary health centers in Sangareddy and Mahabubabad district from August 10 for the prevention of Bodakalu disease and ringworms.  For this, 2,600 personnel were trained and participated in this. Also, the minister revealed that 2,522 drug administrators will serve in the field.

On this occasion, he unveiled awareness papers and brochures on the programs being undertaken for the prevention of filaria and roundworms. He said that Telangana will be made a filaria eradication state.  

The health Ministers of Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh participated in this program which was held virtually. The Government Secretary from Telangana Dr. Christina participated.  (Maxim News)
