Telangana: Congress Lodge Complaint Against Many Police Stations

Hyderabad, May 27 (Maxim News): The Congress party on Friday lodged a formal complaint in many police stations across Telangana State demanding booking of a criminal case against Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for a hate speech which he delivered in Karimnagar on May 25.

TPCC Minorities Dept Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail lodged a complaint with the Habeeb Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad. Similar complaints were lodged in the local police stations by the heads of the DCC Minorities Department in the remaining 32 districts.

Bandi Sanjay delivered a highly provocative speech to create communal hatred among Hindus and Muslims while addressing a public meeting in Karimnagar on May 25 in the name of ‘Hindu Ekta Rally‘.

He used foul and derogatory language against Islam and Muslims. While making certain baseless allegations that thousands of temples were demolished in the past, Sanjay tried to incite the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.

Further, while asking for excavation of Masjids whether there were Shiva Lingams beneath, he provoked the Hindu community to resort to violence and demolish the mosques,” Shaik Abdullah Sohail alleged in his complaint filed with the police.

The Congress leader said Bandi Sanjay falsely alleged that Muslims were enjoying a 4% quota in jobs and education in Telangana by taking away the rights of SCs, STs and BCs.

He said the 4% Muslim quota was in implementation from 2004-05 after a law was passed by the Legislative Assembly of the then undivided Andhra Pradesh. This was not given by reducing the quota of any other community.

“The matter is presently pending before the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court. Therefore, by making remarks against the 4% Muslim quota he challenged the supremacy of law and the authority of the Supreme Court,” he added.

Abdullah Sohail said Bandi Sanjay used highly derogatory words against Urdu, the second official language of Telangana State and spoken by over five crore (4.19%) in the country.

The speech of the BJP leader was full of hatred and aimed at inciting violence, he alleged. The Congress leader urged the police to register a case against Bandi Sanjay under the relevant sections of the IPC and take necessary action. (Maxim News)
