Telangana Family Washed Away In The Maharashtra Floods

Karimnagar/Hyderabad, Aug 18 (Maxim News): The disappearance of a family from Telangana in the floods near Udgir in Maharashtra is causing a stir. Four members of the same family were swept away in the floodwaters along with their car. The victims’ family members are expressing their grief that they received a last phone call saying, “We are being swept away in the floods, be careful of the children,” and then the call was switched off. The children and relatives of the missing are pleading with the government to find the whereabouts of the four.

What Actually Happened?

Five people from TR Nagar in jagtial district headquarters, along with a car driver from Maharashtra, were swept away in the flood waters of Maharashtra on the midnight of August 17. The incident took place near Udgir while they were returning from a wedding in Maharashtra. The missing people include Afreena, Haseena, Sameena, Afreen, a young man named Soheb, and a car driver from Maharashtra. It is reported that Soheb and the car driver survived the flood waters and called their family members.

Among those washed away in the flood, Sheikh Afreen called her husband, Salim, and told him to take good care of the children, crying that they were being swept away in floodwaters, and that if he called again, the switch would be turned off. The incident took place when they were returning from a wedding in Nizamabad, about 150 kilometers away. The incident is heartbreaking as the children in their hometown have been crying for their mother since night. The family members are pleading with the government to bring them back somehow.
