Telangana government schools | Hyderabad, Jan 9: Telangana government schools will provide free shoes and belts to all students from the next academic year.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the decision, marking another major welfare step for students studying in government schools across the state.

The Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the government will distribute shoes and belts free of cost to every student.

Reddy noted that students already receive two sets of free school uniforms. However, the Education Department suggested that providing shoes and belts would further help students.

Therefore, the Chief Minister accepted the proposal. With this decision, nearly 20 lakh students studying in government schools are expected to benefit.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also issued key instructions regarding the Young India Integrated Residential Schools.

These schools are being built as a prestigious project of the government. Revanth Reddy asked officials to give priority to girls in the first phase of admissions.

Revanth Reddy stressed that the initiative should focus on supporting girls and improving access to quality education.

Therefore, officials were told to ensure that girls receive preference during the initial intake.

In addition, the Chief Minister gave another important directive related to student welfare. He ordered that students from Class 1 to Class 10 in government schools should receive morning breakfast.
