Hyderabad, May 17: The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert across Telangana as severe heatwave conditions continue to intensify across the State till May 20.
According to the IMD Hyderabad forecast, all districts in Telangana are expected to record maximum temperatures between 41 degrees Celsius and 44 degrees Celsius from Sunday to Wednesday.
The prolonged spell of dry and extreme summer heat has pushed the entire State into a high temperature zone, raising concerns over heat related illnesses and dehydration.
IMD Warns Of Severe Heatwave Across Telangana
The orange alert indicates a high risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke, especially for vulnerable groups including children, senior citizens and people suffering from chronic illnesses.
Health officials warned that continuous exposure to high temperatures during peak afternoon hours could lead to serious medical emergencies.

The Director of Public Health issued a detailed heatwave advisory urging people to avoid outdoor activities between noon and evening as temperatures remain dangerously high.
Residents have been advised to wear loose cotton clothing, stay indoors whenever possible and consume adequate fluids including water, ORS and traditional summer drinks to prevent dehydration.
Authorities also asked employers and institutions to take precautionary measures for outdoor workers and students during the ongoing heatwave conditions.
The IMD stated that dry weather conditions are likely to continue across Telangana over the next few days, with no immediate relief expected from the intense heat.
Officials urged the public to remain alert and follow all heat safety guidelines until temperatures begin to decline later this week.
