Senior advocates Aryama Sundaram and Seshadri Naidu, appearing for the petitioners, argued that the report was aimed at damaging Chandrashekhar Rao‘s reputation and that selected portions of it were released without giving him notice.

counsel said his client was only called as a witness but was not given the report copy, and yet his name was mentioned in a manner that hurt his reputation.

The bench observed that the copy of the Commission report placed before it was not clear and asked for proper copies to be filed.

Advocate General A Sudharshan Reddy, representing the government, said the PC Ghose Commission was constituted in the State’s interest and its report would be tabled in the Assembly before being made public. When the court asked if action would be taken before or after the Assembly debate, he sought time, following which the case was posted for Friday. (Maxim News)
