The court said if authorities intend to recover pending traffic challans, they must follow legal procedures. It instructed police to issue court notices and recover fines through judicial channels instead of roadside enforcement. The judges stressed that law enforcement must respect citizens’ rights while enforcing traffic regulations.

The directions came while hearing a petition related to traffic challan recovery practices. The court observed that enforcement should remain transparent and lawful. It further emphasized that compliance must arise from legal notice and not intimidation.
