During the hearing, senior counsel Niranjan Reddy, appearing for Bhagirath, presented several arguments questioning the clarity of the victim’s age mentioned in police records.

He informed the court that during a 2021 driving related incident, the victim’s age was recorded as 15 years.

However, he argued that the present chargsheet filed by police also mentioned the victim’s age as 15 years, raising questions over the consistency of the investigation timeline.

Defence Questions Victim Age Details

The defence further argued that there were discrepancies in the victim’s date of birth mentioned in different official records.

According to the petitioner’s counsel, the date of birth mentioned in the police chargesheet differed from the date mentioned in the victim’s PAN card.

The defence requested the court to consider these inconsistencies while deciding the interim bail plea filed by Bhagirath.

The counsel argued that the lack of clarity regarding the victim’s age should be taken into account before denying relief to the petitioner.
