Telangana High Court Judge Justice Girija Priyadarshini Passes Away

Hyderabad, May 4 (Maxim News): There is a tragedy in Telangana High Court judge Justice Girija Priyadarshini has passed away on Sunday after being ill for some time.

Girija, who was elected as a judge of the Telangana High Court in 2022, served as a judge in several district courts between 2008-21.  Fellow judges, lawyers and High Court staff are mourning her death. 

Girija, a native of Visakhapatnam, did her Masters in Law, labor and Industrial Law and PG in 3 disciplines from NBM Law College.  Enrolled as a lawyer in 1995, she practiced in the Visakhapatnam district Court for 7 years.  She served as Additional District Judge in 2008.  First Additional District Judge of Vizianagaram and Additional District Judge of nandyal.  She worked as Secretary of the State legal Cell Services Authority.  She assumed charge as a High Court Judge in 2022.

She also served as a judge in the Khammam Family Court in Telangana for 3 years and as a judge in the Joint karimnagar district.  She participated in many programs in the district.  The Supreme Court Collegium recommended her appointment as a judge of the Telangana High Court in 2022.  She has resolved thousands of pending cases by conducting Lok Adalats.  (Maxim News)
