A petitioner, Durgam Ravinder, had earlier approached the High Court through a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) over the alleged irregularities.

Yogita Rana Faces Notice Over Delayed Inquiry

In October last year, the High Court directed the Telangana Education Secretary to conduct an inquiry into the allegations and take necessary action within three months.

However, the petitioner alleged that no action was taken even after a year. Ravinder subsequently filed a contempt of court petition before the High Court.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh issued a contempt notice to Yogita Rana and sought an immediate explanation over the alleged failure to comply with the court’s directions.

The court’s notice comes amid concerns over delays in implementing judicial orders by government officials. Further proceedings will depend on the explanation submitted by the officer.
