According to reports, students from districts including Sangareddy, Nirmal, Siddipet, Medak, Suryapet, and Rangareddy were among the victims. Several cases were also reported from Hyderabad, highlighting the widespread impact of academic pressure.

Many of the students were said to be deeply distressed after failing exams or scoring lower than expected. Fear of social stigma and anxiety about the future appear to have played a major role in these tragic decisions.

The incidents have sparked concern among educators and mental health experts. They emphasise that exams are only one part of life and not a measure of a person’s worth. Experts are urging parents to support children emotionally, especially during result periods, and to avoid putting excessive pressure on them.

They also remind students that failure is not the end and that supplementary exams provide another opportunity to succeed. Authorities and counsellors are calling for increased awareness and stronger support systems to prevent such incidents in the future.
