Telangana Inter, SSC Exams: 5-Minute Late Entry Allowed
Hyderabad, Feb. 24 (Maxim News): The Telangana Government has announced that students appearing for the Intermediate and SSC (Class 10) examinations will be allowed to enter the examination hall up to five minutes after the scheduled start time.
The decision was taken during a video conference conducted today by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao with District Collectors and Superintendents of Police across the state to review exam arrangements.
Education Secretary Yogita Rana, Intermediate Board Secretary Krishna Aditya, and School Education Director Naveen Nicolas also attended the meeting.
The Chief Secretary stated that Intermediate examinations will begin on February 25, while SSC examinations will commence from March 14.
He directed district officials to ensure smooth and malpractice-free conduct of the exams.
Importantly, students will be permitted to enter exam centres up to five minutes after the scheduled time.
However, strict security arrangements must be ensured at every centre. Officials were instructed to maintain heightened vigilance at previously sensitive centres.
The government directed authorities to provide essential facilities such as drinking water, electricity, and toilets at all centres.
CCTV cameras must be installed. Additionally, one ANM and a first-aid kit should be available at each centre.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that no student should sit on the floor.
Therefore, benches must be arranged in all centres. He also instructed officials to coordinate closely with police, revenue, and other departments.
Sitting squads and flying squads should include officers from departments other than the Education Department to ensure transparency.
Education Secretary Yogita Rana stated that 4,89,055 first-year and 4,53,832 second-year students will appear for the Intermediate exams. Meanwhile, 5,28,239 students will appear for the SSC examinations.
Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside exam centres. Only the Chief Superintendent may carry a mobile phone for emergency use.
For the first time, cloak rooms will be arranged at every centre.
She warned that strict action will be taken against officials or staff involved in any malpractice.
Each question paper will carry a unique QR code and serial number. Officials must open question paper packets only 15 minutes before the examination begins.
For the first time, hall tickets have been sent to students via WhatsApp. Students can also download them from the official website.
