Telangana Minority Departments See No Job Notifications Since 2014
Telangana Minority Departments | Hyderabad, August 25: Despite more than a decade since the formation of Telangana, not a single regular job notification has been issued in the state’s key minority welfare institutions, sparking concern among educated Muslim youth over transparency and recruitment practices.
The Five departments: Telangana State Waqf Board, Telangana State Urdu Academy, Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation, Telangana State Christian Minorities Finance Corporation and Telangana State Hajj Committee, continue to function without fresh recruitment.
Instead, most posts are filled through deputation, contractual hiring, or appointment of retired officials, creating what stakeholders describe as monopolies and stagnation.
Officials in these departments also face no internal transfer system, meaning many remain in the same posts for decades. Activists argue that this limits efficiency and blocks opportunities for new talent.

Another concern is the absence of qualified Public Relations Officers in any of the four bodies. In the absence of proper communication, the departments fail to inform the public about schemes, vacancies, or welfare programs, further isolating minority communities.
Critics have also questioned why the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has not been made the recruitment channel for these institutions, unlike other government departments.
Employees continue to draw state-level salaries but are not granted Gazetted Officer status, leading to disparities.
Activists and community leaders have urged the state government to initiate reforms, including TSPSC-based recruitment, regular job notifications, a structured internal transfer system, and the appointment of qualified PROs. Until then, they warn, inefficiencies and lack of transparency will persist in these minority welfare bodies.
TG Waqf Board Member and Social Scientist Abul Fateh Syed Bandagi Badesha Quadri stated that all eyes are now on the capable officer B. Shafiullah, who has been entrusted with the community’s welfare. Some major changes are expected under his leadership.
