Telangana Municipal Election Counting Begins Under Tight Security
Hyderabad, Feb. 13: Telangana municipal election counting began at 8 am on Friday for 116 municipalities and seven corporations across the State.
In this context, DGP Shivdhar Reddy issued strict instructions to ensure smooth and peaceful proceedings at all counting centres.
The DGP warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone misbehaving with police personnel or government officials on election duty.
DGP stated that no one would be spared if they obstruct officials or attack staff performing their duties.
Telangana Municipal Election Counting Security Tightened
Shivdhar Reddy reminded that everyone is equal before the law. Therefore, public representatives, candidates, and party workers must follow the election code and police guidelines.
Shivdhar Reddy clearly stated that the law will take its own course if anyone violates norms.
DGP Reddy further said that attempts to disturb law and order will be dealt with firmly. Moreover, he confirmed that elaborate security arrangements have been made at all counting centres to prevent tension or unrest.
The DGP also advised that if anyone has objections regarding the conduct of officials on election duty, they should approach authorities through legal channels. Complaints can be submitted in writing to the State Election Commission or concerned senior officials.
DGP Shivdhar Reddy emphasized that the police are committed to conducting Telangana municipal election counting in a free and fair manner.
Meanwhile, he reiterated that cases under stringent sections will be registered against those who violate rules or create disturbances during the counting process.
Authorities have appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate and ensure peaceful completion of the Telangana municipal election counting across the State.
