Telangana Private Colleges Bandh Continues Over Fee Reimbursement
- Private colleges continue strike over fee reimbursement delays
- Government forms committee, colleges demand pending dues payment
Telangana private colleges bandh | Hyderabad, Nov. 5: The bandh by private colleges in Telangana has entered its third consecutive day, causing disruption in the academic schedule across the state.
Several private educational institutions have called for a strike, seeking clarity and action from the government regarding delayed fee reimbursements.
The ongoing protest involves over 2,000 private engineering, postgraduate, and degree colleges that remain closed.
Many pharmacy colleges have also boycotted the semester examinations, reflecting the extent of the unrest. College managements are demanding the government release 50 percent of the outstanding reimbursement dues immediately to avoid any further delay.
In response to the situation, the Telangana government has constituted a committee to address the reimbursement issue. However, college authorities have urged the government not to extend the committee’s tenure, as delays are causing continued hardship.
The strike will continue until the government provides a clear response concerning the pending payments.

Officials warned that if the committee prolongs its inquiry, students will suffer significant academic losses. The strike impacts thousands of students statewide, and college associations have strongly requested prompt settlement of the dues.
Meanwhile, the government has clarified that the bandh will remain in effect until there is an appropriate resolution.
The protest underscores increasing tensions between private educational institutions and the state government over financial support delays.
As the bandh stretches into its third day, students, parents, and college authorities await swift action to end the impasse and resume normal academic activities.
