Telangana Rains: Holiday Declared For All Educational Institutions On Monday

Hyderabad, Sept 1 (Maxim News): Heavy rains are falling across Telangana state. Life has come to a standstill in the state due to increased rains for the past three days. While many areas are waterlogged, the roads resemble rivers, in this background of rain creating terror in the state, the government has taken a key decision, All government and private educational institutions have declared a holiday tomorrow (Monday).

Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy revealed that a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in view of heavy rains and floods. He said that the holidays of all government departments are being canceled. In this background of heavy rains in the state, the holidays of all the government departments have been canceled so as not to hamper relief efforts. He said that the government is alert about the heavy rains. The flood situation is being reviewed with the relevant authorities from time to time.

He said that a request has been made to the Navy for helicopters for relief measures in the flood-affected areas. People are advised to come out only if it is essential. Some highways and roads in the state are overflowing with streams. MLAs, MPs, and other public representatives are advised to participate in the supporting activities. He said that the effect of rain is high in the combined districts of Khammam and Warangal. Measures are being taken to prevent any loss of life. (Maxim News)
