Government Revokes Section Officer Recruitment Orders the state government had earlier released orders for the appointment of Section Officers, which included a 12.5% quota for Heads of Departments (HODs).

However, the Secretariat Officers Association objected to this quota, claiming it was unfair and discriminatory. They argued that a majority of the current Section Officers already belong to the HOD category, and extending the same preference again would deprive others of equal opportunity.

Following these objections, the government decided to temporarily cancel the appointments and revoke the Government Order (GO) issued on October 14. The decision comes after reviewing the concerns raised by Secretariat employees over the quota distribution.

In place of the cancelled appointments, the government has directed that Secretariat Superintendents be temporarily transferred as Section Officers until further orders are issued.
