Hyderabad, April 30 (Maxim News): Shivdhar Reddy has been appointed as Telangana Security Advisor by the state government. The government issued GO No. 559 confirming the appointment on Wednesday.
Shivdhar Reddy recently retired as Director General of Police and will now take up the new role. The government assigned Shivdhar Reddy a tenure of three years in this position.
Shivdhar Reddy will advise the state on key security matters. These include law and order, internal security, crime control, and narcotics regulation. In addition, he will guide road safety policies and policing strategies.
Moreover, the government granted him the rank equivalent to Chief Secretary. He will receive a monthly salary of Rs. 2.25 lakh. Along with this, he will get a house rent allowance of Rs. 50,000 per month. He will also continue to receive travel, medical, and other benefits as per his previous service conditions.
Role of Telangana Security Advisor
Furthermore, the Home Department allocated dedicated staff to support Shivdhar Reddy. The team includes one OSD, a private secretary, and a personal assistant.
It also includes two drivers and four office subordinates. These arrangements aim to ensure smooth functioning of his office.
Additionally, the government will bear all expenses from the Home Department budget. Officials stated that his experience will strengthen the state’s security framework. They believe his long service in policing will help improve law enforcement systems.
Meanwhile, his appointment comes at a time when the state focuses on strengthening internal security. The government expects proactive policy inputs from him. It also aims to enhance coordination among departments dealing with safety and security.
