Telangana State is the most successful startup in independent India’s history: KTR

Hyderabad, March. 02: IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday claimed that the Telangana State is the most successful startup in independent India’s history.

Speaking at a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) event at the Grand Kakatiya Hotel, the minister stated that Telangana’s per capita income has increased by 125% in the last seven and a half years and is now Rs 278000, up from Rs 124000 in June 2014.

According to the latest statistics released by the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Our population accounts for 2.5% of the country’s total, yet we provide 5% of GDP. That indicates Telangana is basically punching above its weight,” he said.

The Minister remarked that “we have been able to attract more than 2.3 lakh crore worth of investment and we have been able to create a direct job potential of 1.6 million jobs” while referring to the TS-iPass (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System).

“The Government of Telangana conceptualised and completed the world’s largest lift irrigation project in less than four years.” The country’s youngest state has demonstrated to the rest of the country how nicely things can be done if political will and the joint efforts of bureaucracy and the engineering department are exhibited” the minister KTR said.
