Telangana State role model for welfare schemes for women: Satyavathi Rathod
Hyderabad, March 4: Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod on Friday said Telangana has become a role model for implementing various schemes for the welfare of women in the State.
For the safety and security of the women, the State government has introduced SHE Teams and established Bharosa centres, a support centre for women and children in districts and to supply nutritional food to pregnant and lactating women, the government introduced Arogya Lakshmi scheme, she said.
She was addressing the participants at a programme jointly organised by National Commission for Women and Telangana State Commission for Women on the eve of International Women’s Day at Ravindra Bharathi here.
She later felicitated eight women who excelled in various fields. Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, who was also present at the event, said the women were playing a key role in the development of the society.
They were also creating wonders after getting opportunities in their respective fields, the Minister said.
