Heavy rains are predicted across the state in the next 48 hours according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad.
According to IMD, districts such as Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban, Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Yadadri Bhongir, Khammam, Suryapet and Nalgonda will witness heavy rainfall accompanied lightning.
The IMD officials also appealed to the people to stay indoors as rainwater may inundate the roads and low-lying areas.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Kodakandla mandal in Jangaon has received 128.1 mm of rainfall in last 24 hours in the state while Saroornagar in Hyderabad received 51.5 mm of rainfall. Mahabubabad, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Suryapet, Siddipet, Rajanna Sircilla and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts received heavy rainfall of more than 64.5 mm in last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the cumulative rainfall of the state from June 1 to September 12 is 863.9 mm as against the normal rainfall 650.9 mm which is 33 per cent higher than the normal.
