Hyderabad, August 9: The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued a Yellow Alert for several Telangana districts.
The department forecast light to moderate rain in Hyderabad, Kamareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri and Medak over the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in six districts.
The affected districts include Mulugu, Nalgonda, Narayanpet, Sangareddy, Suryapet and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.
Gusty Winds Likely Along With Rain
The Meteorological Department also forecast gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph in some areas.
Therefore, officials advised people to take precautions during thunderstorms and strong winds.
Motorists should exercise caution while travelling during heavy rain. People should also avoid standing near electric poles and under trees.
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised to take suitable precautions to protect their crops from rain and strong winds.
