Tension In GHMC Council: Corporators Hit Each Other: Adjourned Indefinitely

Hyderabad, July 6 (Maxim News): Lots of tension in the GHMC Council meeting. The atmosphere of tension has prevailed since the meeting started this morning. As expected, the corporators beat each other, BJP, Congress, BRS, and MIM corporators attacked each other. As a result, the situation in the council went out of control. This fight which started on the issue of showing placards, went to a beating situation. Unable to control the council, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi left the meeting amidst the tense situation. From this morning, the council went on without a hitch.

The BJP corporators protested in the council hall on this attack incident. The MIM corporators who attacked their corporators are demanding an immediate apology, BJP corporators protested by sitting in front of the podium.  Heavy marshals were deployed inside the council hall to bring the situation under control.  Even though Congress, BRS corporators, BJP, and MIM are trying to please the corporators, it seems that no one is getting down.  It is reported that efforts were made to stop them from showing placards to fighting and agitation, but there was no result. 

Before this fight, corporators of BRS and BJP had taken up agitation in the council over polluted water.  With this, Mayor Vijayalakshmi said that contaminated water is also coming into their division.  However, HMWS&SB MD did not attend this council.  The corporators expressed their anger at that MD.  From the council meeting, the mayor spoke to HMWS&SB MD Ashok Reddy on the phone.  The Water Board MD explained that he could not attend the council meeting due to a fever.  The Mayor Asked HMWS&SB MD to come to the council meeting.  However, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali, who intervened in this matter, apologized to the corporators.  With this, the corporators calmed down a bit.

The GHMC council meeting to discuss public issues started with a fight and ended with a fight.  The council ended halfway through without discussing the issues.  It was announced that the council meetings would be postponed indefinitely.  The council was adjourned due to the melee of BJP and MIM corporators.  (Maxim News)
