Tension Prevail As Congress Activists Attempt To Gherao GHMC

Hyderabad, July 28 (Maxim News): Congress workers stormed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) office demanding compensation of Rs. 10,000 to the flood victims.  

As the Congress workers are trying to gherao the GHMC, the Police who were already deployed in large numbers stopped the Congress workers leading to tension.  Police detained several activists including Corporator Vijaya Reddy.

It is known that heavy rains are pouring all over Telangana.  Record rainfall has been recorded in many parts of the state.  heavy rains brought life to a standstill.  here, due to heavy floods, ponds and streams overflowed and many people lost their lives and some died.  

On the other hand, low-lying areas in Hyderabad were also flooded.  Many areas of Greater Hyderabad were submerged.  The opposition has expressed concern that the state government is not paying attention to the situation in Hyderabad which is suffering due to heavy rains.  (Maxim News)
