TGPW Free Rides For Drunk Revelers On New Year Eve

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (Maxim News): TGPW free rides for drunk revelers were announced here as the Telangana Gig Workers Union decided to provide safe transport during New Year celebrations.

The initiative aims to prevent drunk driving incidents and ensure public safety across Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

The Telangana Gig Workers Union stated that free transportation will be available for people who consumed alcohol during New Year celebrations.

The service will operate between 11 pm and 1 am. It will cover the limits of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda police commissionerates.

The union said it arranged around 500 vehicles, including cabs, autos, and EV bikes, for this purpose. People seeking free rides were asked to call 89770 09804.

Meanwhile, police imposed strict New Year restrictions to ensure peaceful celebrations across the city.

Officials clarified that even where permissions were granted, celebrations must end by 12 midnight on December 31. They warned that any violation of the permitted time or conditions would invite strict action.

Police advised hotel, restaurant, and club management to take special precautions. Authorities said they would not tolerate illegal activities, antisocial behaviour, or obscene dances.

They warned that cases would be registered not only against organisers but also against participants involved in such acts. Police stressed that maintaining law and order remained their top priority during New Year celebrations.

Officials also issued a strong warning against drunk driving. They said anyone caught driving under the influence of alcohol would face legal action.

Vehicles involved in drunk driving cases would be seized, and offenders would be booked as per law. Police reiterated that no action threatening public peace or safety would be allowed in the city.

The free ride initiative by the Telangana Gig Workers Union comes at a time when authorities are focusing on road safety and accident prevention.

By offering late night transport, the union aims to reduce risks associated with drunk driving. Police welcomed measures that support safer celebrations and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Authorities appealed to the public to celebrate responsibly. They asked people to follow rules, respect time restrictions, and avoid risky behaviour.
