Hyderabad, Feb 20 (Maxim News): The government has cracked down on engineers involved in corruption in TGSPDCL. As part of the process of checking the corruption that has accumulated in the department, a sensational decision has been taken by suspending eight engineering officers at once. It is reported that those suspended include Assistant Divisional Engineers (ADEs), Assistant Engineers (AEs) and Sub Engineers. Their irregularities came to light after the Intelligence Department conducted an in-depth investigation based on the complaints received by the Anti-Bribery Cell.
The investigation revealed that these officials had demanded huge bribes from consumers, especially for granting new electricity connections, setting up panel boards, and allocating transformers. They were so audacious in their corruption that there was solid evidence that the bribe money was received directly through digital payment apps like PhonePe. With the evidence of corruption confirmed by these digital transactions, the government, without any hesitation, immediately suspended the responsible officials. With this move, the government seems to have sent a strong warning to other corrupt officials in the electricity department.
