Tharuni honours 12 Extraordinary Men
Hyderabad, March 7 (Maxim News): Tharuni, an NGO today felicitated 12 “Extraordinary Men” who have gone an extra mile in breaking the stereotypes in the society on the eve of International Women’s Day in the SVIT Auditorium, Patny, Secunderabad.
Andrew Fleming, Deputy High Commissioner, British Deputy High Commission, Hyderabad was one among the men, who received the award. Dr Tripurana Venkataratnam, Advisor, National Women Commission, P. Raghuveer, IPS, PCCF & MD Forest Development Corporation, Dr D. Ashok, Director, Res Dev Consultancy Cell, OU and Dr P. Hemalatha Devi, Director, Tharuni felicitated the men at a function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tripurana Venkataratnam said, “Men and women are two sides of the same coin. Both need to support each other to balance harmony in lives. Most of the successful women have their Father/Brother/Husband/Friend behind their success”.
P. Raghveer, IFS, Dr Mamatha, Founder, Tharuni also spoke. Men, who were awarded as “Tharuni Mitras” include ordinary men, who made the woman in their life extraordinary by giving unconditional support. These women included a best farmer and entrepreneur, a Bikerni and an Academician. A few awardees have done great work for the uplift of women. (Maxim News)
