The beauty industry | Hyderabad, August 14: Young FICCI Ladies (YFLO) Hyderabad Chapter organised a novel session “Balance & Bliss”, Integrating Beauty & Wellness in Hyderabad City at the Park Hotel, Somajiguda here.

The Beauty & Balance session featured three panelists Mira Kapoor, Co-founder of ‘Akind‘ Beauty; Vasudha Rai, an Author, Podcaster, and Columnist – of Beauty & Wellness and Dr. Pooja Talera – Aesthetic Physician and director – KOSA Wellbeing.

Ridhi Jain, Chairperson of YFLO in her opening remarks said beauty is primarily focused on external appearance and aesthetics. It involves enhancing physical features through practices such as makeup, hairstyling, and skincare. On the other hand, Wellness is a broader and more holistic concept that encompasses physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Mira Rajput Kapoor, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor is co-founder of skincare brand ‘Akind’. Speaking on the occasion she said we must keep the magic of life only by continuing. Keeping balance is a continuous work.

We have more than enough gyan (knowledge) from our ancestors, if we can use some part of it, we will be better individuals.

Skincare is personal, but what is common is consistency, Mira added.

Vasudha Rai is an author, columnist, and podcaster who has written on beauty and wellness for over two decades. Her bestseller, Glow: Indian Foods, Recipes and Rituals for Beauty, Inside and Out, has revived the use of traditional ingredients in everyday living. She is a certified yoga teacher. She said skin colour doesn’t matter. Whatever you have you must celebrate.

Dr. Pooja Shah Talera is a medicine graduate and diploma holder in Practical Dermatology. She has well over 13 years of experience in beauty and wellness. Dr. Talera was educated and trained in Singapore, and now practices in Pune. Our grandparents didn’t have the luxury of what we have today regarding beauty and wellness treatments, and products. They used to make their good old formulations. Today we have the luxury of those products. But, we don’t have time for those formulations, she said
