There is gold inside all of us, focus on what is good in you: Raageshwari Loomba

Hyderabad: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) organised a session on “How to Live Your Best Life” addressed by Pop-singer, model turned actress turned mindfulness speaker Raageshwari Loomba.

Raageshwari was a Singer, Actress, Television Personality, Pop Sensation, and a Mindfulness Speaker. She shot into fame with her maiden film Ankhen with her onscreen presence but had to retire, bedridden for four years and rehabilitated with physiotherapy and yoga and she is back reckoning, said Ritu Shah, Chairperson of FLO. Mental well-being is of paramount importance, she said.

Raageshwari delivered hit songs like Duniya, Pyaar Ka Rang, Osaka Muraiya and Dil Sheesha. She also participated in Bigg Boss 5 and featured in a few films and hosted TV shows. She married a London-based lawyer in 2014.  She shared her inspirational journey, how she fought back etc.

During those traumatic times,  the Singer Raageshwari Loomba changed the way she looked at life.  A born fighter, Raageshwari bounced back to take on every challenge head-on and her journey is very inspiring, Ritu Shah said.

Raageshwari who is now settled in London was in conversation with Ritu Shah, Chairperson of FLO.

She started her conversation with a slide that read “Limit is not in the sky. It is in your mind”.

I don’t drink, or smoke. I never led a sedentary lifestyle. I was always active and fit. But to my horror, I had to suffer from Bell’s palsy during the peak of my career and I had to leave my acting career abruptly, she said,

Bell’s palsy, as most of you know, is a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face. When I was confronted with such a challenge, I had no way but to accept it and do everything to come back, said Singer Raageshwari Loomba.

That is when I came to know about the incredible story of Golden Budha in Thailand and learnt that inside we all are golden, said Rageshwari. If you are negative we don’t let our good light shine.  We need to be positive she said

Mentally strong people don’t complain.  If you keep complaining your brain shrinks, she said.

When the British came to India first they changed our education system, which made us weak, she said.

Giving an example of Billionaire Richard Branson, Raageshwari said, he is a huge fan of ‘yes’.  No one working in that company says ‘no’.  I link Indian ancient wisdom with modern science, Raageshwari added.

Speaking further Rageshwari added that focus goes where energy goes and it is vice versa.  Focus on amazing things in your life, she told her audience.  80 percent of our daily thoughts are negative. You must unleash your brain power to be positive, she said.

Our body is an amazing piece of equipment. It has a solution to every problem we face. We must learn to use our inner strengths, she said.

When asked about her advice on better parenting, she said no advice. In fact, there is none.  It is different for different people.  Just be a mindful parent, and focus on conscious parenting. There is no need to spend a lot of time with kids. The first few minutes in the morning and the last few minutes in the night are enough. We feel we are spending much more time than before but still, we are disconnected because of distractions, she said.

When asked about how to have healthy relationships using social media, she said the greatest friends are those we can cry with and not those whom we party with.
