Third Degree To Tribal Woman: High Court Issued Notice To DGP

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (Maxim News): The High Court of Telangana took the case into consideration after considering the letter written by Judge Surepalli Nanda to the Chief Justice. the court which held the hearing issued notices to the State DGP, Home Principal Secretary, Rachakonda Police Commissioner, LB Nagar DCP, ACP, and Inspectors in the case of using third degree on a tribal woman.

The High court ordered to submit the CCTV cameras related to the incident, it asked that the inquiry reports related to the case should be submitted. The Court adjourned for further hearing after two weeks.

the victim woman came to Hyderabad and was living in Mirpet and Nandi Hills along with her three children. working in local homes. Her eldest child is getting married on August 30. However, Varalakshmi, who had gone to her relative’s house in Devarakonda on August 15, got off the bus at LB Nagar while returning at night. As there were no autos and buses, she stood on the side of the road.

LB Nagar Police came on patrol and questioned Varalakshmi. She was suspected to have money and was taken to the station. The victim revealed that the SI was also present at that time and did not leave even after showing her child’s marriage card.

She said that the police indiscriminately assaulted her and beat her up and sent her home in the morning in an auto, asking why she was brought, Rachakonda CP Chauhan suspended the head constable and constable in this incident. (Maxim News)
