Third-edition Niti Aayog innovation ranks Telangana among the top three States

Hyderabad, July 21: In the third edition of Niti Aayog’s innovation index, Telangana State, Karnataka, and Haryana are recognized as the top three States among major States.

Subnational innovation ecosystems and capacities are evaluated in the India Innovation Index 2021 by Niti Aayog. Suman Bery, vice chairman of Niti Aayog, unveiled the index on Thursday in New Delhi in the presence of Parameswaran Iyer, CEO.

The first and second editions, respectively, were released in October 2019 and January 2021.

The pandemic, which has altered the demographic picture around the world, serves as the backdrop for the India Innovation Index 2021. The recent elements and catalysts for encouraging such crisis-driven innovation are highlighted in the India Innovation Index 2021, which assesses innovation capacities and ecosystems at the subnational level.

By utilising the Global Innovation Framework, the third edition broadens the reach of innovation analysis in the nation (GII).

To compare the performance of the States and Union Territories, they have been classified into 17 “Major States,” 10 “North-East and Hill States,” and nine “Union Territories and City States.”
